Fashion Show....

 So Today we had our Home Ec Fashion Show. I had to model my groups outfit, our theme was Moulin Rouge and YES, it was more embarrasing then you could imagine. Im just glad its over, but i will miss the panicing during each class as we run out of time and try to get things done, hehe!! Our classes spent a good few months designing our outfits that we had to make out of jeans and a tee shirt that we all got! Of course we were allowed add bits but the jeans and tee had to be the main parts. Overall, it was a good show and everyone had great stuff to show for all their hard work :) i think we did our teachers proud...slightly.
 Now that the fashion show panic is over, back to mini co! My group are falling a little behind so were all rushing to try catch up and get the work done :) lets hope for the best.

Yay, We have an Idea!

    Finally, three months into Mini Company and with alot of ideas which didnt exactly go to plan , WE HAVE SOMETHING :) im so happy, the girls and I have finally decided on what we are doing and after one day of working on it, its going very well :) thank god. its based on Christmas, which i also cannot wait for aaah :) so close :D i hope it snows again this year in Ireland :)

Opera, Opera, Opera!

  On Tuesday the 22nd, my class & I went to Rathmines to Swan Cinemas to see Don Giovanni the opera by Mozart. It was about 3 or 4 hours long and we got a 15 minute break in between. I must admit i really enjoyed it and I thought it was great to see an opera as i had never seen one before but i think it was a little too long for our first opera. However, i would definitley reccomend for other TY music students to see an opera as it makes studying operas so much easier :) x

Work Experience..

  Well, i went to LA MakeUp Academy in Dublin for work experience last week :) it was loads of fun. I got a chance to meet lots of new people including two girls from Our Ladys School, they were so nice and each day we all went for lunch together. We decided that we are going to keep in contact so we all exchanged numbers :)  During my visit to the Academy i also got a chance to meet Amber Sibley, the famous make up artist who did the make up for the crew at the new Alice & Wonderland movie , X-Men and many more :) it was such a great experience.
  while i was working there it was my job to keep the place spotless clean and run any errands. however the highlight of my stay with them was getting to model for the tutors and Amber Sibley while they showed their class how to do certain make up styles :) over all, it was a great experience and i would definitely reccommend anyone who is interested in that industry to go here for work experience. :)

Back into Routine..

  Midterm was loads of fun :) a full week to kick back and relax !...and do projects haha. Halloween was great fun :) i watched movies in my house with a few friends! then on wednesday i came into school for rehersals for the musical, i was in for about 2 and a half hours while we practised out dance for "How do you solve a problme like Maria"
  Then on Saturday, Me & Siofra helped our Friend Kasia (also in TY) to make a portfolio for her work experience. She is going to a big photograpghy study and to go she has to make a portfolio of photos she has taken, she already has a good few and they're all amazing but she needed a few more to finish it off. So me and Siofra went to the Kclub with her and we took some photos :) it was loads of fun and i hope Kasia is happy with the results. You can see one of the photos on her blog under Photograpghy!

Looking Forward to...

  We just had Guidance class and it was all about Work Experience, I am so excited :) I am going to LA make up academy in Dublin, off Grafton street ! Its based on teaching people how to apply make up and carry out special effects with make up such as scars, it also does full body art. I cant wait to see them at work :) We start work on the 14th of November for a week, incase you were wondering, the 14th is infact MY BIRTHDAY :D which makes it even more exciting :) i shall update you on my experience in LA make up academy after the 14th and of course how my birthday went! haha :)
  Today I also have rehersals for "The Sound of Music" which im dancing in, only one dance but still, im happy to be involved :)

  So its Thursday the 20th of October and us TYs have a very busy day ahead of us! it begins at 2pm with our weekly activities , with dance classes where we are split into groups and each of us are making up a dance including the Charleston and many other moves we have picked up along the way! then we have Photography with Rob Love, which is my favourite as i love taking pictures of anything & everything :) then to top it all off, we have a pain staking 40 minutes of pilates! im not the best now, i have to admit but sure God loves a Trier :)
  Yesterday, the whole TY year went on a trip to Dublin! Our first stop was to a Museum where we all saw the Bog Bodies, which i have to admit i wasnt too excited about simply because im not a big fan of history however i thought it was the most interesting part of the day! i was so amazed on how well the bodies had been preserved and the stories which lay behind them were just so interesting! i would definatley recommend for next years TYs to go , it would be well worth it! Then we headed to the W.B Yeats Exhibition where we learned all about his life and his writings :) in my opinion, he had such an interesting life and his writing has such meaning to it. i would have stayed a little longer if i could have to read some more on his life! i learned so much yesterday that i really think will help me next year with the leaving cert :) and finally we went to see the play of "Juno & The Paycock" in the Abbey Theatre! i honestly wasnt expecting it to be even half as good as it was! it was a really great show, i must say! it really helped me understand the book better and even though some of the charcaters were not as i expected them to look they still all played their roles very well! I would recommend anyone to go and see, its well worth the money AND it isnt too expensive either!! I even came home yesterday and told my mam to go see it, anyone could relate to it because its set in Dublin :)
  Also to top off a brilliant day we were allowed have lunch on Grafton Street, which i really appreciate so Thanks Ms.L and all the other teachers who accompained us on our trip :) the majority of us went to Burger King or McyDees! it was so yummy!

FOOD.

NO. so its monday, and yes i missed the blog  action day yesterday ! im so annoyed i was looking forward to it so much seen as im like the biggest lover of food there possibly is & this year was for the first time about food. not a happy camper. anyway to catch up....

Busy, Busy, Busy!!

   Mini Company! wow it is hard work. didnt think it would be this hard but i must admit its really fun :) my group and I havent exactly thought of our idea yet seen as all the other ideas we had were done, more than once! boo! so for the moment we are all brainstorming, and for me, im addicted to Dragons Den! its actually a great help! watched it last night, so im sorted :) haha yesterday we went to newbridge for our second talk on mini company! its a great help i think and we get to hear others ideas from other schools. we were also allowed pop into abrakebabra (no idea how thats spelt) or chick king, which i went to, was pretty nice i must say but i tought it sounded so funny! sounds like Chic-ken in a funny accent!
   Me & vicky have also been working really hard on our geog round the world trip project :) its so much fun but ALOT of work. you really need to commit and put so much effort in, but its worth it all :) we have learned so much already :)
   just realised ill be missing next wednesdays IT class too because we are going to see the play "Juno & The Paycock" in the Abbey Theatre. I'm really excited to see this as i was rather confused whilst reading the play so it be great to see it acted out! :D
   OH YEAUUUUH, by the way :) the fun walk was some craic. we class, BANBA won! awh yeauuuuuuh :) i think it was partly to do with the fact we brought in the whole 'anti-bullying week' theme :) but i do think the other classes were really good too :) alot of effort and harrd work was put into everyones !

Same old, Same old

Projects, Projects, Projects and..... Projects. wow, so much work to be done! It's getting on top of me! Need to get back on track!! but sure i guess thats what ty is all about :D not much news today but just incase you were wondering, i just emailed Avonmore Milk Company about getting a glass bottle of milk, because well i want one! nah joking we need it for our young scientist project. anyway life's much rather the same as last time i blogged so,

I'm Back...

   You might have noticed, well you better have, that i haven't blogged in a good while! I've been out the last few days so well, i'm blogging at 8.40 on a Monday night to catch up! by the way, i forgot to mention last Wednesday when i blogged that it was infact my sisters birthday so just incase she decides to read this, well tis a tad bit late but...... HAPPY BIRTHDAY :D !!!

  Anyway as you can see, I've done up my blog, at long last you may say! ha I've added all my favorite oldie games! Snake, the story of my childhood. oh yeah we've also been working on our fun walk dance and so on, its next week, we're not exactly prepared.... AT ALL.  but sure isnt that the fun of it all! ha

   Anyway im knackered, and i've some work to do, on our BT young scientist proposal and i really am not looking forward to writing about milk and bread spoilage! not exactly what i enjoy doing at 10 to 9 on a monday night but i guess i've only myself to blame for that! and ORLA GOWRAN & MONIQUE FRANCOIS...... (yous owe me..BIGTIME)

Musical Madness!

   School has been full of Musical Madness this week and the end of last week! Auditions have been held, Call-Backs made and others going for dancing and the chance to work backstage! Its all SO much fun. As every awaits to be told if they have been casted or if they have been chosen to hold a different character to what they wanted... I decided that rather than working backstage, i'd give dancing a go ! i used to do Irish Dancing and i stopped 3 years ago and it is infact my biggest, well one of my biggest regrets. I amn't exactly up to date as my dance moves are rather rusty but sure it will all be a bit of fun and a great experience to be apart of the Musical :)
   Things have also been hectic as we all try to sort out our work experience for November! i got mine a while back, i am going to LA make up Academy in Dublin, its where they teach people how to do special effects make up like scars etc, and they also teach people how to carry out full body make up art! i cant wait, it'll be an experience i'll never forget :) the main reason for that being, the first day of our work experience is infact on my birthday :) yay! haha , im so nervous tho! ah well, Sweet Sixteenth and my First Days Work all wrapped into one! it should be eventful! anyway enough for now :)

Smiles All Round :)

 WOW, couldnt be happier :) had such a good day yesterday :)
delighted with results and had a fab night in Time in naas, where the majority of us ty girlos went to celebrate :D
tiring isnt even the word for this whole week, but FUN defo is :) i'm devastated i couldnt make it into school today! was so sick, took a trip to the docs tho and everythings looking up :) thank god.which is why i'm blogging now to make up for lost time in school! wont be in tomorrow either but will defo be buzzing for monday !! aah im so proud of everyone doing so well :) mad how time flies doesnt feel like 3 months since we sat through all the exams but all i can say is that i am most certainly delighted its all over :) dreading the thoughts of leaving cert but thanks to TY i dont have to worry about that just yet

And the countdown begins...

 So Its 11:25 on Wednesday the 14th of September and were all awaiting our jc results! some being nervous wrecks, others excited & for those like me, not too bothered. well being honest, deep down i do care of course & hope i do well but the exhaustion has taken over from Carlingford and the fact im dying of a cold and sore throat makes me only think of getting home to bed! Just my Luck that we're all heading out tonight to celebrate! I really amn't up for this, only due to my cold!  i was nothing but buzzing yesterday and the day before! ah well, what can ya do!
  I only hope that everyone is happy wIth their results and we ALL have a great night :) ahhh next time im on this ill know how i got on!! buzzz.

Carlingford Buzz :D

   Carlingford was an amazing experience! We all had loads of fun and got to know each other some much more. The activites were so tiring! walking, walking, walking, climbing, climbing, back to walking... IT KILLED. however, we were one of the first groups who got to part take in their new Laser Game! That had to be the Best game we played. As we all wondered what our activites for tuesday were, we were all so dissapointed that the weather let us down meaning we couldnt get into the sea and do water sports and games! that was the thing i was looking forward to most! ah well..   However, the majority of our TY girls were delighted to see that St.Mary's boys school from Drogheda were in Carlingford at the same time as us! we had some amount of craic between them having a ridiculous "rap-off", the girls singing for us all &  the lads playing guitar! But i must say, speaking on behalf of us all, the highlight of my trip was definately Leah falling in love with one of the boys named Liam! she did well i tell, we all agreed he was the best looking one there! As they cutely talked passionately about music I just imagined him breaking into Bruno Mars- "I think i wanna marry you" hahaha!

Back into Routine :)

 Our first week back at school was pretty fun, it was all about meeting our new teachers and finding out what was planned for us to do during our ty year. However, the early mornings killed as i was loving the lie ins each morning throughout summer! We've gotten into our second week now and i am loving thursdays as we have music composition classes, Photography classes & Pilates :D i know, fun or what :) !

Throughout the first & second week i have also got to know all the girls in my class much better. I'm in class Banba :D and of course it is the best of the three :). Class Banba is some bant! and every chance we get we all sing our class tune of la la la la la BANBA :D
